　最後に「福島食材」攻防で起きた「二重のものさし」関連の考えをひとつ。MBCは今回ルーマニアのマリウス・マリン選手がオウンゴールを入れると、「ありがとう、マリン」という字幕を出し世論に袋叩きにされた。しかし2008年の北京五輪での野球韓日戦の試合を思い出してみよう。当時MBCの解説者は打球を逃した外野手佐藤に向かって「ありがとう、佐藤」を連発した。ところが当時はみんな「記憶に残る語録」と絶賛した。嘲弄の表現も日本がその対象になれば「名解説」になる、まさにそういうものを私たちは二重のものさしと呼ばなければならない。」
