　昨日、X299パソコン以外の全パソコンのメンテをやったのだが、ASUSパソコン付属のミニドックが故障していることに気付いた。
　パソコンを起動する前から高熱を帯びていたので怪しいと思ったのだが、これで、ようやく、今まで、ASUSパソコンの電源が落ちたり、時々、外付けモニターが機能しなかったりした原因が分かった。
　今まで、同パソコン付属の電源コードを、パソコンと直に繋ぐのではなく、このミニドックに差し込んで、このミニドック経由で電気を同パソコンに供給してきたのがいけなかったのかもしれない
　なお、K.Kドッキングステーションは、LANと繋ぐのには懲りたので使っていないけれど、それ以外の機能は、HPパソコンで大いに働いてくれているところ、件のミニドック、念のためHPパソコンに繋いでみたけれど、やっぱりダメだった。
　で、この際、ピアノ部屋のEcho Dotの活用と外付けモニターの使用のため、そして、いざという時に不具合が起きる心配がないドッキングステーションを確保するために、HPパソコン専用に新品の（USB Type-Cの）ドッキングステーションを買うこととし、ネット↓であたって、

　で、本日朝、パソコン部屋のASUSパソコンに装着していたK.Kドッキングステーションを取り外した上で、ピアノ部屋のASUSパソコンにはType-CのUSBポートが３つあるので、（1）一つを内部給電のHDMIポート付きType-Cハブに外付けディスプレイ、USB-DAC、マウスを繋ぎ、（2）一つを電源ケーブル専用とし、（3）残りの一つにこのドッキングステーションを装着し、（2）と（3）を、スマートプラグに繋いでおいた。
　そして、ピアノ部屋のEcho Dotに呼びかけてスマートプラグの電源を切っておいた。
　次に、

を見ながら、パソコン部屋で、TECKNのスマートプラグの設定を行った。
　TECKNはスマートライフ・アプリを用いるので同アプリをiPhone12で開いたのだが、ID、パスワードを入れる画面で、入れても次へのボタンがグレーアウトしていてにっちもさっちもいかないので、タブレットで試みたらこちらはうまくいき、「四番目プラグ」と名づけた。
　でも、不思議なことに、同社の同じ製品の設定済みの二番目プラグと三番目プラグのうち、（新たに加えた四番目プラグのほかは）二番目プラグしか表示されていなかった。
　そうしたら、スマホのAlexaアプリを開くと、この四番目プラグが自動的に登録されており・・ちなみに、こちらには、同じTECKNの製品で四番目プラグも、Amazonの製品である一番目プラグも、（そして上出の三番目プラグも、）表示されていた・・、Echo Show（やEcho Dot）に呼びかけることによってこのプラグの電源オン・オフができるようになっていた。
　さて、11時前にこの製品が届いたのだが、「お使いになる前に、セット内容がすべてそろっているかご確認ください。」と取説にあったのでチェックしたら、「ショートケーブル」が入っていなかったので、アマゾンのサポートに電話したが、なかなかつながらない。
　そこで、チャットにしたら、すぐつながった。
　で、再送（明日着）、返品（梱包し直してコンビニ等から着払いで送る）、をすることになった。
　やれやれだが、電源ケーブルがついていなかったので、パソコン付属の電源ケーブルを繋がせる仕様のようだ。
　蛇足ながら、まだ、スマートプラグが２個（どちらもTECKN製品）残っており、２つの電気湯沸しポットにそれぞれ用いるつもりがあるのだが、いまだ、実行に移していない。
