　その投稿欄を一瞥したけど、キリスト教に悪罵を投げつける人が多い。
　同教は先進国では崩壊寸前？

　クーデターが起こったマリでツアレグ族叛徒達がティンブクイトゥを占領したというので、地の果てと同義語であったこの町の話題で英国が盛り上がっている。
　そこは、サハラ砂漠が終わり河が流れる本来のアフリカが始まる地、かつての交易、イスラム教学の地だ。

今見ると色々ツッコミどころの多い作品ですが、四半世紀前でこのクオリティは素晴らしいの一言。

　『革命的飲酒主義宣言　ノンストップ時評50選！』（坪内 祐三・福田和也対談）を最近読んだ。
　福田曰く
　「朝鮮半島は朱子学のせいで、理や気といった概念が発達して物事を正邪で見るくせがあり、それがキリスト教にうまくはまってしまった。日本では、伊藤仁斎が｢人外無道」を唱え、抽象的概念を排除した。」
　と言っていた。
　｢人外無道」とは、元々は論語の言葉であり、人の外に道なく、道の外に人なし、ということのようだ。
　この言葉はまさに人間主義そのもののようなので驚いた。

　これを読み返して妙に納得しました。

　紹介してくれた子安宣邦の論考、斜め読みを始めたけど、長いし、小むつかしいので、「人外無道」に行きつくまでの四０頁あたりで読むの止めた。
　伊藤仁斎（注i）（コラム#1648のQ&A）の言に「惟＜＝おもふに＞孝弟＜（注ii）は＞忠信を言て足れり」があり、「仁斎の思想とは、人々の日常の交わりに尽きるともいいうる人道を根幹として、人間の世界をとらえきろうとしたものということができる。」（五頁）というわけか。
（注i）1627～1705年。「＜そ＞の学問手法は、当時支配的だった朱子学的経典解釈を廃し、直接テクストを検討するというものである。朱子学は・・・、その成立過程に流入した禅学や老荘思想といった非儒教的な思想のために経書の解釈において偏りがあった。仁斎はそのような要素を儒学にとって不純なものとみなし、いわば実証主義的な方法・・・＜である＞古義学・・・を用いた。このような傾向は同時代の儒学研究に共通にみられるものである。・・・＜彼は、＞日常生活のなかからあるべき倫理と人間像を探求して提示した。」

　伊藤仁斎も今まで取り上げたことがないなあ。
　確かに、彼、江戸時代における、荻生徂徠、安藤昌益、本居宣長らと並ぶイデオロギー排斥論者であったことに加えて、日本で人間主義を唱えた最初の人物、とみなすことができるのかもしれないね。
　そのうち、改めてコラムで取り上げようかな。

In the mid-1950s, having averted a red scare in Japan, America’s rationale for providing aid to Japan took on a more commercial dimension—and the Japanese government, eager to rebuild its arms industry, was happy to strike a deal. Between 1954 and 1956, the two nations signed a series of agreements in which Japan consented to buy U.S. surplus wheat (of which there was plenty). In return, through a series of clever maneuvers, the United States loaned money to the Japanese weapons industry.
　It was during this phase that the propaganda came out in full force, starting with a nationwide campaign led jointly by the Japanese and American governments to persuade the Japanese to trade their rice for bread. ・・・
　What made the biggest impact of all was the school lunch program. The project, initiated by the U.S. government during the occupation, guaranteed that Japanese schoolchildren were provided a daily meal that included bread, powdered milk and a meat-based stew. ・・・
　Once instant ramen entered the scene, there was no going back. Created in 1958 by Taiwanese-born businessman Momofuku Ando to absorb the influx of American wheat, instant ramen was at first much more expensive than a bowl of fresh noodles from a street stall. But it quickly evolved from a middle-class novelty to an economical and convenient staple for time-strapped workers. In 1961, Ando’s company Nissin sold 500 million packets; by 1966 that figure had eclipsed 2.5 billion. ・・・
